Teaching Philosophy

Within my teaching philosophy, I believe the most important things for my students to understand are the importance of their education, and how much they are cared about. I want my students to understand the importance of being a good learner. Not only do you learn within the classroom, but also outside of it every day. It is my goal to help them achieve their goals and to want to become lifelong learners. The purpose of education is to help a student learn the basics of knowledge to help them succeed in their futures. Without the basics they will learn in primary education, it will be challenging for them to get jobs and understand the ways of life as they get older. So, it's important that they achieve their goals and learn the basics.
My role as a teacher is to help my students achieve their goals and help them to succeed, while also making sure they know I care about them and just want what's best for them. I will do my best to teach in multiple different ways for each topic to try and teach using all of the learning methods for each student. Each student has a different learning method that works best for them, so I want them to all receive the information in all the different methods. I am going to do my best to give my students the best education I can give, and I hope that they will be willing to work with me as well. I recognize that everyone can learn at all points of their lives every day, and I look forward to my students teaching me things as well. My role is to also communicate with the parents the best I can. I will make sure that each parent is aware of their child's successes and areas of difficulties so that we can work together to form the best plan for their child's success.
I also believe that inclusion is a large aspect to be considered as well. I understand that each student is unique in many different ways, and I want students with disabilities to also be able to get the experience of being in a typical classroom while having a teacher who is certified to be able to compensate for their needs. Which is why I have a dual major in Primary Education and Early Intervention Specialist. I will try my best to accommodate each student's needs to try and give them the best education possible.
I recognize that I must also follow the guidelines that I wish my students to follow. I want each of my students to treat each other with respect and care, and I will do the same. I firmly believe in the statement "treat others how you wish to be treated", and I expect my student's to follow this statement as well. I will do my best to be a positive role model in my student's lives and to encourage them to lead by example. My student's education is a main priority of my life, and I expect my student's to treat their education as a priority in their lives as well, as it is vital for them.
