Luersman- 3rd Grade- English Language Arts (google.com)
Class Code: 7ywciai

This is my google classroom class! This class is for 3rd grade English and Language Arts, with a primary focus in vocabulary! Students will learn some basic state standards about Vocabulary in the class, including, how to use context clues to identify the meaning of a word, how to use a dictionary, and how to use a text to support their answers. In this class, I have created a lesson to the short story "A Sound of Thunder" by Ray Bradbury, including a pre-assessment, a video of background about the author, a question to follow the video, the reading, and a post assessment.

Caregiver Form

This is a Google Form asking caregivers questions that I may need to know about their students going into the school year. Some questions include if the student has any allergies, what the student's form of transportation is, and some basic questions about the student's behaviors. In order to access this survey, please Click Here!

Google Slides Presentation

This is a Google Slides Presentation that will help a student to learn how to identify what an affix is and how to use it with a word. This presentation can be utilized in a classroom, through an online video, or for the student's to use on their own. This presentation includes a pre-assessment, an introduction video, practice questions, and a post assessment. Click Here to access this presentation!

Screencastify Recording

This is a recording using Screencastify where I am presenting a Google Slides presentation to a class. In this video, I show the students how to determine and affix and go through the practice examples I had created. I used many of the different tools that Screencastify supplies, such as the different mouses, the drawing tool, and the sticker tools as well. Please Click Here to access the video!

Rubric

This is a rubric that I had created to go along with the Affixes Short Story Post Assessment assignment in my Google Slides Presentation about affixes! This rubric has four different areas that my students will be graded on and each area has a description of my expectations for each score. Please Click Here, to review the rubric!

Google Sites

Above is a picture of a Google Sites page I have created! This page is designated for a third grade English Language Arts class. This page can be used in multiple different ways in a classroom. Included on this page is a personal introduction to who I am, instructions on how to access my third grade ELA Google Classroom, direct access to a Google Form for Caregivers I have previously created, and five different resources my students can utilize to help them learn more information and gain more practice to their lessons. To access this Google Sites page, please Click Here!

Project Based Learning Activity

Pictured above is a learning activity that I have created for a third grade English Language Arts vocabulary lesson. In this lesson, students will utilize context clues to determine the meaning of unfamiliar words and phrases, write a short answer using affixes and new vocabulary, and practice revising written works through the help of peers and providing feedback. They will do this through the process of determining which pet suits them best and how they will take care of it. Five different resources were incorporated into this lesson. To access this learning activity, please Click Here.

Digital Etiquette Lesson

Pictured above is a lesson of an activity to teach students about digital etiquette and cyberbullying. This project will allow for students to be able to acknowledge what words are not good to use when communicating with other people online and how they can be harmful. Students will also read a related reading that demonstrates a real life instance that cyberbullying negatively impacted a person. They will demonstrate that they can acknowledge which form of communication can hurt a person, and what can help them. I also incorporated six different open educational resources to create this project. To access this lesson, please Click Here
